Similar to guided meditation, Yoga Nidrā brings the practitioner into a state on the verge of sleep, allowing for deep rest. The first portion of class will involve gentle movement to prepare for stillness, and the remainder of this class is done in a comfortable, reclined position aided by the support of blankets and bolsters.

Join Rene’ Hawthorne for a New Years Day for a 75 minute vinyasa flow class and meditation to set your intentions for the new year. A resolution feels like a “should” in a life full of demands. Using resolve instead, to set a course of action. For this kind of action to happen, all you have to do is set your drishti “gazing point” and keep focused for what you desire to reveal itself. Drishti is a little bit of magic you can create on your own.
Drishti is Sanskrit for vision or focus, by fixing your gaze on a specific point to improve concentration. In yoga, it is used to control the mind and maintain balance. What if we set a drishti for our lives, decide what to spend time on, looking at our lives instead of changing something about ourselves. We can train our mental gaze on a spot of our choosing and see what resolves before our eyes. Without forcing anything, we can resolve to look in a direction of our lives with concentration watching to see what take shape. If we attune, our gaze to opportunities, we will notice them appearing everywhere.

Join Tracey for a four-week series designed for beginners.
In the four sessions of this series, you can expect to learn the basic alignment of the most common poses in a vinyasa yoga class. You will also learn any modifications that might help the pose be more accessible for your body in the use of yoga props.
Each practice will function more as a workshop than a typical yoga class, and as such, you can feel free to ask questions in a warm and welcoming environment.
The goal is for you to finish this workshop feeling confident enough to join a yoga class with enough knowledge to keep your body safe and comfortable.
This series is designed for those with general mobility. Please ensure you're able to transition from standing, to sitting, to lying down without need of extra support. Ideally, you would attend all sessions, but if you have to miss, that is fine.

Befriending the Body - Start your year with self-love and compassion to release stress and relieve pain.
“The body always leads us home…if we can simply learn to trust sensation and stay with it long enough for it to reveal appropriate action, movement, insight, or feeling.” — Pat Ogden
What if the tension, aches, weariness you feel aren’t problems to fix—but a message to understand?
What if you could reframe stress symptoms as signals? Our bodies are designed to adapt to stress, but when emotional, mental or physical stress piles up, and our body can’t keep up, it speaks to us. First it whispers…. Then it yells. Listening—without fear—opens the door to release, regulation, and a new path.
As a society, we’ve grown more dissociated, disconnected, and stressed than ever before. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Through the lens of modern pain science, somatic practices, and yoga philosophy, we can learn to calm the nervous system, restore a sense of safety, and reconnect with the body’s innate wisdom.
In this gentle class combining education and experience, we will explore how to listen to our bodies with compassion and curiosity. When we befriend our bodies, we begin to heal the deeper disconnection between mind, body, and self and can begin to see our aches and pains as messengers - an invitation to pay attention.
In this 90-minute workshop, you will start your year with some gentle reminders and tools to move from shaming to befriending your body and from stress and pain to greater ease and curiosity. No pushing. No perfection. Just steady care that shifts things over time.
You will experience a “sampling” of body befriending practices:
· 15 mins of education and introduction to the bio-psycho-social approach to pain management.
· 15 min guided meditation and breath work practice (pranayama) to bring awareness to pain and hold space for it, inviting calm into our body and shifting from our stress response to our rest/recover response.
· 30 min gentle trauma informed movement practice combining a supine “mini-vini” (vinyasa) and a Gentle Somatic Yoga™ experience designed to reconnect brain to body, release tension, and explore the body with compassion and curiosity.
· 15 min of reflection/journaling and writing a Love Letter to Your Body.
You’ll also leave with a handout full of resources from leading pain experts to continue your practice at home as well as a deeper sense of safety, curiosity, and self-compassion – new tools to turn down the volume on pain by befriending your body.
This workshop is safe for all and designed for anyone, even those who have never done yoga before. Bring a pen and/or journal if desired.

Trauma is the experience of being overwhelmed. We can group these experiences into large and small traumas. A large trauma is an acute event like a sudden loss, a car accident, or a natural disaster. Small traumas can be less identifiable but are experiences that may cause more anxiety and underlying stress. The exercises offered in this workshop are an effective tool to help resolve tension from large trauma or stress and anxiety from small trauma. The body registers the regular experiences of living as muscular patterns. When we work with neurogenic shaking, we can help to release tension patterns and return the body to a more balanced state.
Join Sarah for a discussion and an extended yoga practice, focused on reminding the body of its instinctive mechanism of spontaneous therapeutic tremor. Take time to connect to yourself as you wrap up the winter and prepare for spring renewal.
