Ashtanga gives the practitioner an opportunity to take control of their practice. Learn how to do this in a safe, supported and explorative environment. We will be using props and optional hands on assists to help you get into the intricate binds, arm balances, and deep folds of the primary series. We will break down poses step by step, learn about Bandha engagement, and how to use this practice in your yoga toolbox.
All levels are welcome, but know that it is a very physical and challenging practice, must be comfortable with challenging the body.
Missy has focused her teaching on helping her students through physical and emotional trauma, while encouraging them to seek their highest selves through honoring their bodies as they are. She believes the yoga journey is one that is mind, body and soul, one can’t exist without the other.
Her classes aim to honor the ancient roots of yoga, connecting with the subtle body with inclusivity, safety, and offer healing and fun. She also loves offering sound baths with bowls, tuning forks, gongs and chimes, and meditation, often bringing in these elements into her classes, and maybe a reggae song or two.
She is a full time dog mom to three Shih Tzu mixes and a whole bunch of plants.
